Although October was mostly warm, we had some super nasty weather and the fishing was really tough at times. Both the weather and the fishing improved for November and we started to get our first real cold fronts of the year about half way through the month. Now, we currently have water temperatures dipping into the high 60’s. Luckily, the fishing has been good, despite the cooler weather; we’re still getting plenty of bonefish shots on the flats and we’re still seeing some small tarpon around the mangroves. Some of our cold water species have started to show up as well, like big barracudas on the flats and trout and pompano in the basins. As long as the cold fronts don’t get too bad, the winter fishing forecast looks positive.
